[Art journal] New cover

I already mentioned it in my previous post: I started a new art journal. A children's book to be exact. Here is the front cover, as promised:

Oh and let's not forget some close-ups... :)

I'm not sure if I'm happy with the result of this cover. The metallic spray I've used is different than the ones I'm used to and it doesn't have the result I expected. For now it's good but maybe in time I'll change the colors a bit, so it can match the back cover. (Which is still a work in progress)

Oh and because I enjoy making covers the most, there's another one coming up soon. And! I already bought 2 new (second hand) children's books to start all over again.

And for those I will need some inspiration! So tell me, what are your favorite art journal materials and/or techniques?

  1. The metallic spray that you have used does give it a different look, not like the normal book covers.

  10. Something so wonderful about repurposing old books,
especially children's, because they're already works of art.
