[Art journal] Saille


An art journal page based on the Ogham sign "Saille", which means willow. I took this ogham sign for a weekly divination system in a spiritual FB group and decided to dedicate a page to it. I found this text by Glennie Kindred, which deeply resonates:

The willow has always been known as a tree of dreaming and enchantment, and it was associated in Celtic legend with poets and with spells of fascination and binding. This is the willow moon energy, which puts us in touch with our feelings and deep emotions, and it is the ability of the willow to help us to express these, let them out, own them and charge them in fantastical leaps of inspired eloquence and understanding.

 Have you ever used divination symbols in your art journal pages? (Archetypes, tarot, ogham, runes or something else) Do you notice any difference if you compare it with your other pages?

This weekend it's Full Moon, a perfect time to get in touch with the willow energy.

    love the depth and rich colors you've chosen for this spread. Love Celtic symbolism which so intertwines with nature. Thanks for sharing the willow story.

    this is dru from soulsigh. i absolutely love your art journals! i also studied the ogham symbols and trees and willow is one of my very favourites. your work is just beautiful!

[Art journal] Be the type of person...

You want to meet. This is the first page in a new art journal I've bought. It has black pages and some people say these are difficult to work with because the color tones are different than when you use white pages. I'm not sure if this is true but I had fun trying it out. Did you ever used black pages? If so, what did/didn't you like about them? The first layer is a half of an envelop, the second layer is an origami piece. Both layers have a spot to hide some secret messages. Other materials used are a goddess stamp, sand-texture paint, acrylics, ecoline & silver ink.
